Xinjiang attractions, seasons, and cultural characteristics

Motorcycles rushed into the Yadan Canyon, the wind whipping up sand and dust from behind their wheels. The TV series "The Great Great Road" combines off-road sports, life in Wubao Town, and the Hami Gobi Desert into one drama, and also lets many people know for the first time that the Great Great Road is both the name of the ancient Silk Road and the Yadan scenic area under unified management today.

Xinjiang's vast size can alter how you buy airfares. Flying to Urumqi first, then taking a 10+ hour bus ride to Kashgar or Altay might seem cheaper on paper, but it could save you a whole day of travel time. For truly useful deals, you need to consider both the arrival airport, transit restrictions, and ground routes.

Upon arriving in Bayinbuluke Town, there were no service areas for world-class rally races along the roadside, nor could one find a 100-kilometer track that allows tourists to sprint. The cliffs, grasslands, and gravel bends in the movie were all based on real scenery, while the races and tracks were reassembled through scriptwriting, on-location shooting, set construction, and post-production.

At the end of the grassy slope stood a tree, with a horse tethered beneath it, and distant snow-capped mountains and low-hanging clouds. Many viewers of "My Altay" assumed such scenes were scattered throughout Hemu, Kanas, and the entire Altay region. However, upon actually visiting northern Xinjiang, they discover that the most important pastures, forests, and small shops depicted in the series are primarily located in Habahe County.

The horse rested on a rocky shore by the lake, reins dangling, before it lay a vast expanse of cold, blue water. Snow-capped mountains rose abruptly from the opposite shore, their bases almost entirely devoid of buildings, and no road could be seen to take tourists to the viewpoint. The most enchanting scenery of Paradise Lake often concealed the difficulty of reaching it.

Upon entering the Xiangfei Garden in Xinjiang, the first thing that usually catches the eye is the central dome. The blue-green glazed bricks gleam under the intense Kashgar sunlight, and the four corner pillars elongate the building's silhouette. Many people standing here, however, are reminded of Xiangfei from the TV series "Princess Pearl," dressed in white feathers and capable of attracting butterflies.

About 33 kilometers northeast of Kashgar city, the oasis gradually recedes, replaced by dry, wide alluvial terraces. Two earthen stupas and a large expanse of low-lying building foundations remain in the desert. Judging by their outlines alone, the ruins of Mor Monastery are hardly reminiscent of modern Kashgar; they preserve a piece of the city's history that is rarely mentioned in tourist destinations.

A map showing the distribution of tourist attractions in Xinjiang is quite exciting at first glance. Kanas, Hemu, Sayram Lake, Nalati, Kashgar, Baisha Lake, Flaming Mountains, and Tianchi Lake are all on the same map, making it seem like you could visit them all by simply drawing a line.

In front of the barbecue stalls at Xinjiang night markets, there's often a transparent beverage container. The owner turns on the tap, and a light brown liquid pours into a plastic cup, foam rising to the surface. It smells of malt, honey, and a hint of beer. But it's not as bitter as beer; it's sweet and sour, slightly fizzy, which perfectly balances the richness of the lamb.
